GOGG
The group was started in September 1994 for the exchange of ideas/techniques and sharing of ideas/plants/tips.
We are a local group of, and affiliated to Garden Organic (the Henry Doubleday Research Association), the leading organic movement in Europe. We meet monthly on the third Tuesday of each month. Summer meetings are usually arranged as visits to organic gardens, members’ gardens, nature reserves and the like. We usually arrange one or two coach outings per year to gardens of interest further afield. We also run an annual coach holiday of five or six days, visiting gardens.
We publish a newsletter three times a year with articles from members and reports on meetings as well as general gardening tips and general information; the programme for the year is printed on the back cover.
The group attends as many local events as possible in order to pass on information and give advice on all aspects of organic gardening, including some local shows.
